Helping Men Lead with Heart Isn’t Betrayal - It’s Feminism in Action

My 12-year-old son asked me a question I wasn’t ready for:

“Why do people think men are superior to women?”

And for a moment, I didn’t know what to say.

Not because I don’t know the history. I do. I know that gender roles once had a function, that patriarchy was embedded into the fabric of economies, politics, religion, even the idea of family. But that wasn’t what he was asking. He wasn’t looking for a textbook answer. He was asking what I’ve lived. And what I’ve lived is this:

There is no good reason.

There is no good reason why my husband’s infidelity was tolerated while I was expected to be chaste. No good reason why I worked ten times harder than my male colleagues and still earned less. No good reason why men throughout my life have felt entitled to my body, my money, my time, without seeing me as a whole human being. No good reason why I’ve had to be both the provider and the mother, carrying the weight while the world praised the fathers for simply showing up.

There is no good reason.

And yet, we’re still swimming in the aftermath of that story. Boys still absorb it. Women still perform around it. And leaders still recreate it - in boardrooms, businesses, and relationships.

I’m a staunch feminist. Always have been. I’ve seen too much not to be.

So maybe the obvious path for someone like me would be to coach women only. To work with those who share the pain and the lived experience. That would be the safe choice. The easy one.

But I didn’t get sons by accident. And I don’t coach men by accident either.

Because here’s what I’ve learned:

I love working with men.

Not the ones who are still hiding behind their ego and performance. But the ones who are ready. The ones who feel the disconnect. The ones who know the traditional model of masculinity is making them miserable - and ineffective. The ones who want to lead differently, but don’t know where to begin.

That’s where I come in.

I help men open their hearts. I help them connect with their purpose and values. I help them shed the layers of performance and posturing and step into something far more powerful: aligned, embodied leadership. The kind that changes not just teams, but generations.

I don’t do this work in spite of being a feminist. I do it because I’m a feminist.

Because I believe the revolution doesn’t happen by working around men. It happens by working with them - when they’re willing to come back to themselves.

That moment when a man drops the script and lets his truth speak? That’s holy.

That’s the moment the cycle breaks. That’s the moment the system shakes. That’s the moment my son gets a better answer than the one I had.
